Winchester Massachusetts Real Estate

While working in central Boston is an attractive prospect, city living isn’t for everyone. In those cases, bedroom communities like Winchester are incredible resources. Though the town started as an agricultural community and turned into an industrial one, now it is a haven for professionals from all around the Boston area.

Winchester is home to several New England natural beauties, starting with the Aberjona River. The River banks are full of beautiful sites, as are the various ponds into which the River feeds. You can visit the Mystic Lakes, Wedge Pond, Winter Pond, and various creeks and brooks. Hikers, bikers, and picnickers alike will find countless areas to explore and enjoy.

When not exploring nature, the children of the area are excelling in the town’s public schools. Winchester High School was founded in 1850, and today it is considered one of Boston’s elite public high schools. All the schools in the area are consistently ranked as some of the best in the Boston area, making this one of the best towns in the area in which to raise a family.

The town’s population has been fairly stable over the last few years. Town leaders attribute this to their attaining a happy, thriving community, so their focus has been on maintaining this quality of life rather than expanding the town. The goal of the town is to create an environment that is ideal for families, providing schooling, entertainment, and natural wonders for the delight of all its residents.

One incredible site that the town encourages all visitors to explore is the Wright-Locke Farm. This farm was founded in 1638, and continues to produce exceptional quality produce. You can see some of the historical agricultural devices used on the farm, or stroll through the beautiful fields on the land. To make this a true community haven, the farm hosts Family Farm Nights. You can bring a picnic or order pizza, then make friends with the farm animals. Once you’ve done that, there will be musical performances, storytellers, and a range of other events that are sure to thrill everyone in the family.

Winchester properties are varied and provide many opportunities for families to thrive. The majority of the properties are single-family homes, though Winchester apartments and other property types are also available.
